The year end is special on many levels because it’s closing a chapter on a year well done and starting your next great one. So, what’s better than to celebrate it with your loved ones and to close that chapter in a memorable and meaningful way!

Whether it’s singing (or dancing!) like no one’s watching, racing in VR adventures or experiencing a total rejuvenation, here are six memorable ways to spend the last day of 2019 that will surely inspire you to kickstart 2020!

1. Sing Your Heart Out

The first on the list has got to be one of our favourite past times - karaoke. Spend New Year’s Eve with friends and family, and sing your heart out at Teo Heng Ktv Studio! Just remember to call in advance to secure a booking.

Starting at just $8 an hour, you could book a room exclusively for you and your besties to party, countdown with mics in hand, and belt out all your guilty pleasures.

This studio allows you to bring your own food, so feel free to bring your favourite party snacks when you go to Teo Heng. They also provide drinks for $1 each, so you’re covered there.

Pro tip: There’s nothing ambitious about dropping three Adele hits in a row, but do drop by Starbucks for a caffeine boost or throat soother after.

Teo Heng Ktv Studio at Bedok Point is open until 2am on Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays.

Starbucks at Bedok Point is open 24 hours on Eve of Public Holidays.

2. Late Night VR Adventures

Feel like doing something crazy such as racing the world’s fastest cars on the last day of 2019? Or simply lazing on the couch and playing video games all day? Well, you can do both at Timezone!

Timezone is an impressive treasure trove of interactive games for the whole family. It’s time to dust off those driving gloves and sneakers, and get ready to race, dance and play air hockey with your kids in this paradise of fun.

Timezone located at Waterway Point is open till midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Timezone is also open till 10pm daily at Causeway Point and Northpoint City.

3. Popcorn & Cat Fever

Even with the rise of Netflix, New Year’s Eve is a real good reason to get off the couch and watch the highly anticipated musical “Cats” in theatres. This classic has just been turned into a movie-musical featuring celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Judi Dench, London Royal Ballet School ballerina - Jessica Hayward and more!

Grab an extra large box of sweet and salty popcorn because there’s going to be a ton of beautifully choreographed dance scenes, jaw-dropping graphics and a highly absorbing, fantastical storyline. A heart-warming story for the whole family, make sure you catch the movie of the year in theatres before 2019 ends!

Pro tip: Book tickets online as soon as you can, it’s going be a sellout!

Late night movies are showing at Shaw Theatres located at Waterway Point and Cathay Cineplexes located at Causeway Point.

4. Hop into the New Year

If you and your buddies are looking to chill, try bar hopping around China Square Central’s hidden gems. Start at the fun bistro ESCOBAR, inspired by “Narcos”, a hit TV Show on Netflix. From captivating wall art to a menu named after characters from the show, it’s a unique experience with lip-smacking Mexican style food. So, start your celebrations with margaritas, “The Godfather” pizza and nachos!

You can also try out the suitably named Hopstation. This place is a gem designed for craft beer aficionados. Savour their authentic brews from the tap, learn a thing or two from the beer specialists, and just relax in the cosy space.

Next, head to Harry’s Bar and drink to a fantastic year ahead with champagne, cocktails or even “Celebratory Shots” like Harry’s Cupcake featuring Kahlua, Baileys, Grenadine and cream! Delish.

It’s a great way to have some friendly competition that even provides some stress relief on the side, enjoy a few drinks with your best buds and test your accuracy!

After the game, the losers should definitely treat everyone to Mango Bingsu, Cream Kiss Cold Brew or even Acai Bowls at dal.komm COFFEE. The perfect post-game reward.
